A company is a legal entity and cannot act on its own. It can act only through natural persons to run its affairs. The person, acting on its behalf, is called Director. They are the officers of the company. Only individual can be appointed as Directors of Companies registered under the Companies Act. Every Private Company must have 2 directors and Public Limited Company must have 3 Directors. Each type of Company is required to have such minimum number of directors from the date of birth of the Company.
The First Directors are those who assume their office from the date of registration. Before appointment the proposed directors must have Directors Identification Number (DIN), Digital Signatures and must have given its consent in written to become director.
